Art has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. From creating small little crafts, to sketching and drawing, and then, to finding my love for painting. In the summer of 2019, I found a good deal on 4x6 canvases, so I thought, "I'm going to by 100 of them and paint them all!" (because yes, these are the crazy things I do). Since I started this mission in June, I decided to paint them LGBTQ+ Pride themed, and that I would give all of the original paintings away for free (because what would I do with 100 paintings?).
On June 30th, 2019, I attended the first ever Pride Festival in Media, PA. I made 117 canvases and distributed them (for free!) to those who were there. My goal? To spread love, kindness, and acceptance for all. And I am proud to say, I was a huge success!
Before I gave away all the originals, I scanned them into my computer and began selling prints to raise money to give away more free art. To this day, I have painted and given away over 500 original pieces of art!
I also had the idea to shrink my positive and inspirational designs down onto little cards and laminate them. I call them "Kindness Cards." There are currently over 1,000 different designs I have made of kindness cards. Similar to kindness rocks, the goal is to hide them around communities, give them to people who could use a positive boost, etc. There are over 50,000 kindness cards in circulation around the world!
As I have grown as a person, Em's Fabulous Art (EFA) has grown with me. The world is a scary and difficult place and I am using my passion for art to make an impact and a statement. I firmly believe by standing up for yourself and others, speaking out, and sharing your gifts, talents, and passions we can create change.
Hi...I'm Em! I'm a neurodiverent, non-binary, trans-masc, fabulous human being. My full time job is being a licensed professional counselor and working with the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, as well as those with religious trauma. I love helping others find meaning and purpose to their life especially by integrating spirituality into my work.
I identify as a lightbearer, believing my purpose in life is to bring light to others. I identified I had a purpose to change the world when I was six years old. I strive to make a difference in the world each and every day, by being the light for others, through spreading love and kindness not hate. Hate perpetuates hate, while loving all, being kind, and accepting others for who they are begins a new cycle of creating a more peaceful world.
Meet my amazing and supportive family who is there for all of the crazy ideas, craft shows, and late nights prepping for shows, filling orders, or in the therapy office seeing clients. Pictured above is my immediate family, who I live with...my wife, Carrie, and our 3 fur babies: Beck, also known as Beck-a-boo (the big boy) George, also known as Georgie-Porgie (the little boy), and Dottie, also known as Dottie-girl (the little princess).
I also have a bunch of other very special people in my family circle, from biological family to chosen family. They are constantly there to support me and have truly been a blessing in my life helping me get where I am today. Come visit us at an in person show and get to know us! We would love to see you! (Sometimes even the puppies come!)
